Genealogy Software

Genealogy software which one is the best? What do I need in a software program? Does the best one cost a fortune? Do I like simplicity or do I prefer more technology?

The above is just a few questions you may ask yourself before you start compiling a family history.

Before thinking about what program to put on your computer, it is best to start doing some ancestry and family history searching. There are some websites that will let you to print off some forms to use. Take a look at these forms, try two or three.

When you have filled in some of these forms you will have a better idea what software program you need. I prefer simplicity. I do not want to have to go to the help screen for every line I type or for every form or chart I want to use. Ugh!

That said here are a few choices to look over.

Family Tree Maker at: www.ancestry.com

Roots Magic at: www.rootsmagic.com for a Free Trial Version.

Family Tree Builder at: www.myheritage.com

Here are a couple websites to check for reviews.

www.consumersearch.com/genealogy software.

www.genealogy-software-reviews,toptenreviews.com.

Have fun and keep on researching.
