"Laux Parkhurst Consent"

In the Laux Parkhurst Consent, I want to show you not only handwriting and spelling but who gave consent. William Parkhurst was not 21 years of age, so his mother gave her consent for his marriage to Sarah M. Laux (Loucks & Louks, Lowks).

Also look to the left side of the page and see Saux for Laux. This marriage took place in January 1858. Since the mother gave her consent to the marriage this probably means the father was deceased. Generally a male: father, guardian or older brother etc was expected to give consent.

Look over the rest of the consent and see if you can read all of the handwriting.

Ancestry search is fun and most of the time relaxing, so enjoy the ride.
