In tombstone photos anyone 2 I am presenting 2 of my Civil War Ancestors. Two brothers who died just a few months apart. One was 22 years old and the other was 26 years old. The two pictures are of one monument, one inscription on each side.
The parents could be proud of their two sons but they lost both in 2 months, what a tragedy.
A little background: Jacob Hudlow became a Lieutenant in Company"I" of the 46th Regiment of the Indiana Volunteers. Jacob was killed at Pleasant Mill, he died on April 8, 1864 age:
22 years 2 months 16 days. So young.
J.P. (Jonathan P.) after his father, joined Company "F" 116th Regiment of Indiana Volunteers.
J.P. died February 5, 1864 (2 months before Jacob) age: 26 years ?months and 1 day.
There are more loses in war than there are gains. Be proud of any friend or relative who serves in the military.
Two young men to be proud of. Do you want honor or show us any of your ancestors?
